Ingredients

  • 4 medium potatoes Yukon Gold, red, or baby potatoes
  • 1 teaspoon salt optional
  • 1 tablespoon butter or olive oil optional
  • 1 teaspoon chopped parsley or chives optional

Instructions

  • Wash and scrub the potatoes thoroughly.
  • Cut potatoes into halves or quarters for faster steaming.
  • Fill a pot with about 2 inches of water and bring it to a simmer.
  • Place a steamer basket over the pot, ensuring the water does not touch the potatoes.
  • Add the potatoes to the steamer basket.
